Habits
Bad habits, good habits, we all have them. Does one side outweigh the other in your life. If you are one of those people that has more bad habits than good. You are probably missing out on so many good things that could be in your life. I remember when I left college and I began to analyze my life. When I stopped long enough to take a look at myself, I did not like what I saw. There were numerous things about me that didn’t make me feel good about me as a person. It was almost overwhelming to the point that I was about to make a decision to just ignore it all. I wanted better habits in my life. But before I could really develop good ones, I desperately needed to get rid of some bad ones. So, I made a list of all the bad ones I could think of and numbered them in the order of least to worst. Then I one by one began to deal with them. Six months down the road, I was a different person.

Regrets Revisited
No regrets allowed is what we should all be saying about our lives as we look back at where we came from. Sadly, for many of us, that is not the case when we look at what we have accomplished to this point. I am no exception to this rule. I find myself often pondering my past with regrets as to how I have allowed opportunities to slip through my fingers. Usually I am snapped out of my funk by the realizations that there are so many people in my circle whose lives are shattered due to any given circumstance. I then realize what I have and began to re-focus myself back on the reason why I am here on this planet. My survival of my poor decision making and the poor decision making of others that have greatly affected my life was all for one reason and one reason only, and that is to take what I learned as I went through those seasons, and put them into words in such a way that would help the lives of others. We can look back and regret anything we choose, but the only real regret in life is not to use your life as an instrument to encourage the life of another.

Face It
There are those days, and even sometimes weeks when things are just tough. We see the adversity and know we need to go at it head on. We don’t want to deal with the unpleasant emotions, not to mention the energy that will be invested. We have to learn to face up. The emotions drain us and then the situation itself requires added energy from an already exhausted account. The good news is when we have stood firm in the face of the adversity, there is always an opportunity to grow and reap a greater return from the experience.

Those who shrink in the face of adversity, never enjoy the success found on the other side of facing up to it.

Be There, Be Doing
I had a young man working for me that disappointed me greatly with his actions. He had broken my trust and was feeling down and out about the situation. I was very angry and hurt by his actions. Even though I could not retain him as an employee. Still I Knew I had to talk with him. I gave him one simple but very powerful truth. We all need to be where we are supposed to be and doing what we are supposed to be doing.

Think Positive
We have all heard the saying that the glass is either half empty or half full. It is apparent that most people focus on the part of the glass that is half empty. When we do this, we usually can’t get anything done. The flip side of this is that there is probably enough resources in the half empty glass to do everything we need to do in our life time. Focusing on what we have is how we will be able to fill our cups til they run over. When our cups begin to run over, then we will be able to significantly bless others.

Big Dreams Revisited
I was once told that my life was limited to the people I surround my self with, and I would never rise any higher than those in my current circle. I was disturbed by the comment because the people in my circle were not living the life I want for myself. As I write these words today, I can honestly say that I still have not come close to where I want to be. I can say that today something changed in me as read about a man that was up against unbelievable odds, yet still saw his big dreams come to past. It is amazing how quickly the sorrows of this world can destroy a man’s dreams for his life. But this also I know and strive to realize daily, and it is this, we have an awesome God that desires to give us nothing but the best. I have huge dreams that I have only shared with my wife. Dreams that are so big that only someone with overwhelming influence can assist me in bringing them to past. If our lives are limited to people that we chose to hang out with, then for some of us that means we had better start spending a lot more time with God because our dreams are bigger than any human that could possibly help get us to the reality of it.

I Can’t
YES, YOU CAN!!!
Don’t allow this year to be a year of disappointment. Make daily notes about what you want to achieve and do something in that direction everyday!

Haste
Haste is like compound interest. The more you do it the more it multiplies into more haste which in turns increases your chance to make life altering mistakes. Anything going faster than it is capable of going is a weapon of destruction. When you feel pressured to rush, step back for a second and count up the cost. Then proceed at a regular pace.

Opportunity
Opportunity
When opportunity knocks, will we be ready? Here’s the truth, opportunity is already knocking. It seems as though we are all waiting on our ship to come in. When it does, I hope we have been doing what we need to do everyday to be in position to handle it. If we don’t take this opportunity today to prepare, we won’t be ready when our ship comes in, and thus miss our opportunity.

Helping Others
We can not under estimate how important it is to stop and help others. It is so easy to get focused on what we’ve got going, that we neglect the fact that someone else may be in need. I have learned that sometimes just taking time to stop and listen to someone who just wants somebody to talk to goes a long way with them. It also makes us feel better as a person. Another thing is this; when we are going through difficult times, that is one of the best times to help someone else. What you help happen for someone else is the same someone will do for you in your time of need.
