Restore

Years ago my daughter who was about nine years old walked out of my life because her mother could not deal with the fact that I had moved on. My daughter became a tool used against me to control me and to destroy the new relationship I was in. I had gotten married and every time my daughter went home it turned into a war. The bottom line was this, as long as I jumped when my daughters mom said jump, then she would not make things difficult when it came time for me to see my daughter. Of course it did not go over well with my wife for me to allow myself to be controlled by another woman.  My relationship with my daughter was placed on hold because I was not about to allow her to be caught in the middle, and I hated watching her mom use her as a tool to control my life and destroy my marriage. My daughter is still angry with me today for backing off, but in time God will restore our relationship. Let me encourage any of you that have given up on an important relationship. God knows that situation, and if we will allow Him, He will bring it back to us.

Full Time Baby

Rest in this my friends. God is on His job full time. Even when we are sleeping, God is not. When we are away from our love ones, God is not. When we pray, He is available at any hour of the day or night. He is there for us on a full time bases.

Stay The Course

Are you on the right path for your life? Are the steps you taking today leading you in the right direction? How can we know for sure that we are headed down the right path? Pay attention to that inner witness that we all have. There are moments when we may not know for sure that we are going in the right direction, but as on any journey we always come to a point when we know this right, or this is wrong. Tak notice, that I did not say feel rifgt or feel wrong, I used the word know. When we get to a point that we know we are moving in the right direction, then we must stay the course, no matter what we feel.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:

Keep Your Head Up

When we allow ourselves to walk with our heads down. We are allowing the situation to defeat us. When this happens, our dreams are in jeopardy of being aborted. We must get our heads up so we can see where we are going and what’s coming our way.

Make The Pledge

Today lets keep it simple. Many times it is just one word that drives the matter home. Make the pledge to follow through with the changes you have committed to making this year. This is the time of year when people begin to drift back into their old behaviors from the previous year after vowing that things are going to be different. Make the pledge and stick with it.

Today, Not Tomorrow

Today, you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by. Someone needs the gift of caring and recognition that you hold in your hand. Give it and watch God use it to encourage someone past their thoughts of insigniciance .

You Are Special

Do you know how special you are? Many of us, myself included have those moments when we don’t feel good about who we are. Some of us suffer from this daily. I mean, it is a constant foreboding that we just can’t seem to shake. We look at all the wrong things to determine our value. Things like am I smart enough, pretty enough, tall enough, small enough, or wealthy enough; the list goes on. God says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that we are the apple of His eye. It doesn’t matter who our parents are, what our financial status is, where we live, or our educational level. God loves us. Its is simple, people are all basically the same when it comes to most issue about life. They want to know that they matter. Let me tell you,  you do matter and you are very special.

Silence

What a tough topic to discuss for some of us. We live in a world that is screaming at us almost twenty-four seven. Many of us dread time alone, without television or radio playing in the back ground. It is hard enough to get the right information we need for our lives without having all those loud voices screaming at us daily,  Voices saying, “Listen to me, I have instructions for your life!” Fortunately for me, I grew up as an only child and had learned to practice the art of being still and silent. When I regularly get alone and quiet,  I can hear Gods instructions for my life. I have had many major mess ups in my life; And I can track every last one of them back to a period of time when I allowed myself to drift away from taking time out to be alone and silent. You see, when we get quiet, we can hear the gentle voice  God speaks to us in. So today, I am encouraging us all to take time to be silent. God wants to speak to us about the issues in our lives.  But He will not compete with all the other voices that yell and demand our attention, as if they have the solutions we long for. Remember this my friends, talking to God should be us listening more than we speak.

Footsteps

I am reading a book now, and the author tells a story about a trip he took to Alaska. The guys that went along with him all got the chance to go on a tour. On this tour, the guide took them on a trail where the grizzly bears would often venture down to feed. As they came upon the trail they noticed that there were large foot prints that had smaller footprints in side them. The tour guide told them that the cubs walked in the footsteps of their fathers. What a powerful story, and wouldnt it be nice to know exactly where to step every step of the way? We have that availible for us, but it is difficult at times when there is so much in the world telling us that this is they way we should go. God has provided a way for us. I will admit that I have gone my own way and even the way suggested to me by other. Each time I have ended up somewhere I didn’t want to be. I still step off wrongly and have to find my way back to the path as we all do. But I hope that as I write everyday it help some find the path and others to stay own it. There is safty within those steps.
