The Great Story Teller
I have a lot of opportunities to talk to people everyday. I also have the privilege of speaking to groups at a time concerning any given subject. As I talk with people I usually tell them a good story that helps drive home the point I’m trying to make. Everyone likes a good story. Jesus was was and still is a great story teller. When we read about His time here on earth we see that He often told his disciples stories to help them understand the point he was making. Words that are masterfully put together can paint a beautiful picture and give someone complete clarity concerning a situation they need to act upon. The answer to the problem is always found in the story.

The Power Of Your Own Words
It’s really not what others say about us that makes the difference, it is what we say and believe about ourselves. Growing up I was told that if you talked to yourself you were crazy. But now I talk to me all the time. We are going to listen to our own voice more so than any others. This is why it is important to know what to say to yourself. The words that we need to be speaking over our lives is the words of God. Gods word in our mouths, spoken over our lives will produce what meaning those words posses. Whatever our situation is, there is a word for us. We just need to find it in His Word, and then speak it over our life.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return onto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
If You Survive It
There is so much that one person can go through in a single lifetime. Many things happen that would seem to cause one to cash it all in and give up. But know this my friends. If we survived it, then God still has great plans for our lives. Regardless of what it looks or feels like, the fact that we are still standing is significant. We are still in the game and we can and will win.

The Most Powerful Weapon Known To Man
I have written on this subject before, but now I would like to go a little deeper. This weapon is not the atomic bomb, nuclear missiles, or any other weapon of mass destruction. This is a weapon that at first may seem to be insignificant because we most often have no clue as to how it works. It is the weapon of prayer. Just in the last twenty four hours, I have had conversations with two people in my circle that were having problems that seemed to be out of their control concerning issues with their children. As I listened to them explain their situation, I could hear in their voices that they felt helpless. I took the opportunity to explain to them that what they were experiencing was a spiritual battle that required a spiritual weapon. Prayer is the most powerful tool that we posses to counter the things that rise up against us and our families. If you don’t believe that prayer is vitally important then you need to read the story of Daniel. Daniel prayed and got no answer for twenty one days because a powerful dark force known as a principality raged a battle against the messenger angel of the Lord to keep Daniel from getting the information and resources he had prayed for. Our enemy knows the power of prayer and is encouraging us not to pray by raging war on the messengers that deliver our answered prayers which in turn causes delays that cause us to believe that prayer is a waste of time. The result of prayer is the release of God’s power in our lives. And as the prince of Persia found out when he was bound up by one of the chief prince angels of heaven, there is absolutely no match for the power of God when it is released on our behalf through prayer. Therefore we should open our mouths and pray.

The Finish Line
The finish line is the only part of the race that allows us to let up. But so many times in this race of life we let up when we should be applying more pressure. Oh yea, I have been guilty of this on many occasions. I’m still learning how to press through when I am faced with certain situations. One thing is for sure, this is a race worth running. I have spent so much time jogging in life when I should have been in an all out sprint. Regret tries to creep in often when I think about those moments, but I do a fair job of closing the door on it, because I use my mistakes to help others avoid the same ones. That is the main reason why I blog everyday. I hope to help someone else in their hour of need. A good word at the right time can be absolutely priceless. The finish line is waiting on us all, but this is not a race against one another, but a race to help one another. I will say many more times in my life time, if what we do is not about helping others, then we may be missing the whole point of life. I know that when I help or just encourage someone else, it really puts wind in my sail. This is one of the master keys to success in life. If we use it, we will cross the finish line of life in a powerful way.

A Sure Path
I have been doing a lot of reading lately. I remember when I was in my early twenties. It was then when I realized how powerful reading was. I would read every free moment that came to me. But as my kids began to enter into their active years in sports and I began coaching their teams. My reading dropped off quite a bit. Now, I have returned to my old reading habits. When I was a child, I did not have the fortune of having a father or any other strong male figure present in my life to lay out a sure path for me. To be honest, I didn’t know that I need someone to do that for me. When I entered into my twenties and began to take advantage of all the great reading material available. I began to realize that I knew very little about everything. As many mistakes as I have made, it could have been a lot worse if it were not for what I have obtained through reading. My mistakes have not gotten the victory over me, because I am still standing and pursuing wisdom. As continue on, I will make it a point through all that have learned to help lay a sure path for those that will come behind me.

Have Some Fun
Enjoy your climb to the top. Just want to remind everyone to have fun as we strive to reach new heights this year. Yes we need to be serious about making the changes we need to make, but at the same time, lets enjoy our lives. If we are so serious about life it will squeeze the joy right out of it and cause others in our circle to be uncomfortable in our presence.

Solitude
We should always know that if we are going to succeed in being who we know we need to be, that we are going to have to spend some time alone. Most of us spend a lot of energy to stay away from that alone time. The time alone will allow one true voice to speak to us about how to make real and effective changes for our lives.

Matthew 14:23
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening had come, He was there alone.
Go The Distance
You know my friends, it’s not over until it is over. I have had the opportunity to overcome many adverse things in my life. Some of it was my own stuff, and some of it belonged to others that I was in one way or another connected to. Nevertheless, I refuse to give up. I am going all the way and today I am challenging all of you to go the distance with me. Have you ever been in a race or set a goal to run or exercise to a certain point but quit before you reached your goal. I know I have, and every time I felt disappointed with myself because I allowed the pain to determine how far I would go. I want to go the distance this year and for the rest of my life. We have to make decisions like this before the race gets tough. If we wait until the pain starts to decide how far we will go, we will almost every time decide not to finish the race in order to get relief from the pain.

Lets Make A Difference
Have you ever heard,”Blessed to be a Blessing”, or” To he whom much is given, much is required.” Those are some deep words but words that we should really take to heart. Often times I look around and I see people that are less fortunate than myself. It Usually happens when I am having one of those moments when I feel as though I have been dealt a bad hand. Prolonged thinking patterns like that will make it impossible for us to be a help to others. This is happening at all levels of life. There are those that we believe may have everything and if we were to have what they have we would never complain about another thing. It doesn’t matter how much we have, we are always wanting more. The question is, why are we wanting more? As an individual we all have to answer that question. I know I use to want more just so I could have a lot of stuff. Now things are a little more balanced. I still want to have things for myself, but I also have a deep desire to share it all with someone else that are not a part of my household.
