Step Out & Live
Stepping out and going for what we believe in can be a scary adventure. But what is the alternative? To keep doing what we are doing, knowing deep down inside that if we don’t step out and go for it, that it will haunt us for the rest of our lives? I’ve had it said to me on many occasion that you only live once. That statement is so true. Once its over, it’s over. We can’t go back and do what we wish we would have. I wish I would have, what a horrible thing to have to tell yourself when it is late in the game and there is not enough time left. I have said it to myself before, but no more for me. How about you, and that thing that you want to do. The clock is ticking, and with ever tick your life is being consumed. Lets not allow ourselves to pass away without living a full life. We are designed to do.

You Can Figure It Out
Take control of your mind and make it work for you. It is yours, take charge of it. Now, think and think hard, it will come to you what you are searching for.

Look On The Bright Side
Are you one of those that always focus on the dark side of situations that come up that appear to be adverse? Look on the bright side as they say, I know that this is a challenge for some of us, but I promise you that there is an up side to every situation. Listen, what is it that allows us to understand the darkness? It is the light, without one, we would not understand the other. Therefore, do not be tricked into thinking that there is only one side to focus on when something bad happens. Remember also that light penetrates dark.
Rhon Johnson

You Know
You know that voice in your head that always seems to speak up when you are about to make a big decision. Especially the one that says ‘Don’t Do It.’ How many times have we heard that voice and completely ignored it and then three months down the road we are regretting it? I know that I am trying so hard to learn to listen to that voice more. We allow our emotions to take over often in our live. Our emotions lie to us on a regular basis. We need to be mature enough to recognize that, especially when we hear that inner voice prompting us to do the opposite.

Thoughtfulness
Let me tell you friends. I have run into some of the most thoughtless people ever. I’m not talking about people that have done things that you hear about on the news. I am referring to those that spend there time talking about others behind there backs, spreading rumors, and exaggerating incidents that they heard from others just like them. Silly of them to think that they are not going to eat the fruit of their own behavior. I have never been one that has excelled in this behavior, but I have been guilty from time to time. I see people so differently today. I can now see past the behaviors, and see the pain that causes people to be so thoughtless towards others and their feelings. I’ve said it before, hurting people hurt people. Talking negatively about people is one of the most hurtful things we can do to one another. We will all fall victim to someone else’s evil communication about us, but I encourage you to not allow that to cause you to behave in the same manner. What we do and how we respond does find its way back to us.

Working Together
Working together with others can be very rewarding or extremely frustrating. When things go south in your plans to get something done that envolves others, the most important thing to keep in mind is not to become reactive. Try to figure out what the real issue is. When people start behaving differently all of sudden, we have to realize that something has happened that has cuased them to change. It may not even be about you, it may have to do with something personal with them. If it is, we need to be sensitive to the fact that they just need some time and understanding, as appossed to thinking that they’re just being difficult. If we are going to be able to work with others and get things done, we must not allow ourselves to become easily offended and miss the opportunity to help someone get through a tough time in their life, as well as finishing the project together with them.

Greatness
Greatness is a road where there is very little traffic. Many hear the sound of it and say that it is the way for them. Many never get on the path and the majority of those that do take the first exit after they come to know what is really required. In order to be great, there must be something about you that really sets you aside from all the rest. One key component of greatness is surviving adversity, no , it is even more than surviving it. It is the ability to go through it with the understanding that it, adversity, is the main ingredient. You see, greatness demands that we have something to share that is uncommon when we get there. Without having to go through something that brings extreme pressure to the table, greatness will never be forged in our lives. The adversity, whatever it is must be embarrassed while passing through it, knowing that without it you will never reach your destination. I good attitude is imperative. Without it, one would be likely to exit the path or miss the point all together. I can say that I really understand why so many exit the path or never really get started. It is a lonely road where extreme exercise techniques are required multiple times a day. Exercising your faith, training your mind to think in the direction of your destiny, responding appropriately to the negative voices that illegally invade your space, and purposely feeding yourself healthy words and images. Greatness does not demand perfection. Perfect people have not learned anything, and therefore cannot lead others. As for me, I am not perfect, and when I look around me and see my family and the pain in our communities, I can not exit the path. I can not give up. Those that desire greatness must endure the hardness of it. Soon we will be in a place that will allow the details of the path to be told, and those that hear it will be encouraged within themselves to a better example to others. Some may even decide to journey the path to greatness. Greatness, it’s in us all, but not all are willing.

Don’t Judge
This is a tough concept, judging others for whatever the reason. I find myself judging people often before I catch myself and begin to back off them with my thoughts. But just this week, I encountered a situation that has allowed me to somewhat grow up a little bit in this area. I have the privilege to be in on a project with three other men. One is an international business man, one is running for a seat on the senate, and the other is a lawyer. The businessman told me to do something that I had already set in motion. He said it in such a way that he really didn’t seem to care if I did it or not. We left the meeting that day all excited about what our plans are. Several days past after I had sent him a text about something that was really important to me. But because he didn’t respond as promptly as I thought he should, I began to allow negative thoughts to enter my mind. I was able to catch myself before it took root in my thinking. When he finally responded to me. He revealed to me that concerning my request, he had already made arrangements for it before I had mentioned it to him. Here’s my point, we dont always understand God’s way of doing things, and therefore I lot of the time we judge his actions without realizing that we are doing so. The business man has responsibilities world wide, and is sitting from a point of view that is just a whole lot clearer than mine. I just need to trust that, even when I don’t get an immediate response. So, if a man can show me this, just think about God’s perspective. He has a vantage point that allows Him to see all things at once. We just need to know that He has already set the plan in motion to deal with the issue that has yet to come up in the lives of people like you and me. Let’s not judge his ways, because His ways are higher than our ways.

Put Me In Coach
We all want to do something to contribute to our societies growth and development. There is a long learning curve if we are going to position ourselves to truly impact our communities. I remember my first year of high school. I had made the varsity cut but never got to play in the varsity games unless it was a blowout. I remember jokingly saying, “Put me in coach” as he walked by me on the bench during a close game. He just gave me a quick smile and rubbed me on the head and said, “your day is coming, so make sure you’re ready when it does.” I knew he was talking about all the little things I need to work on while there were no fans sitting in the bleachers. Impacting our communities for the good is no different. We are all going to get a chance to leave our mark, and if we have not prepared we will probably make mess of it.
