The Art of The Tongue
The tongue is a powerful member. It has the power to build lives or to destroy them. The willing of this weapon has started wars and it has ended wars. I was once told that God gave us a mouth for two reasons other than eating, and that is to say whats on your mind and to close the door concerning what may be on our mind. I know sometimes I have some things that I want to get off my mind that are better off staying on it for the sake of those in my presence. Nevertheless, some things that may not be pleasant have to be said. For those things to be received appropriately, it really depends upon how cunning we are with our choice of words and our ability to transfer our thoughts to others without leaving them laying on the floor bleeding to death. I have watched and listened to people speak sweet things out of their mouth and then within moments utter sheer ugliness from the same source. What man can master the art of the tongue? The answer is, the one that understands that he can not do it alone. I read in the Bible that the power of life and death are in the power of the tongue. If that be the case we should constantly be searching for wisdom about life over all. the wise know when to speak and what to speak.
