Truth

The truth hurts they say, but it also heals and leads to freedom. We should seek for it, tell it, and accept it.

Rhon Johnson

John 8:32

and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Guidance

As we walk through life, do we ever stop to think about who or what we are following. What motivates us in one direction or another. Is it family, news, our emotion, or the emotions of others. What is the motivation behind these thing? Will following them get us where we know we need to go? Better still, do we even know where we are supposed to be going? There is a voice that is calling out to us all individually, saying ,”hey my friend, this way.” Are you following it?

Psalms 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way.

Thinking

I was once advised to think, and think hard about what I was trying to accomplish with my life. The energy that is used to focus on a tough situation is more depleting than a grueling physical workout. Maybe that’s why many of us never realize our dreams. We are not willing to put ourselves through the frustration of turning off the outside distractions, and force our minds to focus only on the issues at hand. Our minds belong to us, we should force them to think on the things that we need them to. But we can be sure of this, if we don’t force them to think in the direction that we want our lives to go, we are going to end up somewhere we don’t want to be. As the pressures of life mount, our minds will be pressured to think in negative patterns. Therefore, it is essential that we train our minds to focus in the mist of the storms of life. When the storm clouds start rolling in, then there is our opportunity to train our minds by forcing them the think on what we want as opposed to what the situation may be suggesting. It is a given, that our lives are moving in the direction of our most dominant thinking patterns. So, I ask you my friends, what are you thinking about?

Job 3:25

For the thing which I greatly feared-(thought on) is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

Exercise

Exercise can be commented on in many forms. There are forces out there that are pulling at us and causing us to be less effective at what we do. Gravity is constantly pulling at our bodies. The atmosphere is constantly putting pressure on our lungs, and lethargy is constantly pushing at our minds to do nothing. All three of these force can be overcome by exercise. When we exercise our bodies, and target muscles groups, we can cause our bodies to become stronger that the force that is pulling at it. The more we weigh, the stronger the gravitational pull. The stronger your muscle, the better we will be able to hold our bodies in its proper place and alignment. Like wise, forcing our mind to excercise it s ability to think will strengthen your mind muscle for those times when we need to use it to help us figure ourselves out of a tough situation.

Power Quote:

Exercising is when we subject ourselves to pain on purpose, so that we can withstand our enemy.

Controversy

Controversy! The word in itself sounds bad, but when you are making a valid point that is going to help change the lives of people, controversy can be your friend.

Power Quote:

No great advance has ever been made in science, politics, or religion, without controversy.

Early Meditation

It is the best time to focus on ourselves and what we need to do. There are no distraction that call out for attention. We can hear clearly form deep within ourselves what the Spirit would say to us about our lives. Once we have this time, it will set the tone for the rest of our day. We feel as though we have our priorities in line before we even leave the house. We will notice that those are the days when we receive the most compliments from others as well as being made aware of the need of others in our circle. So lets give a good effort to start each day before the day really starts with a little time alone with ourselves and the One who walks along side us. Putting first things first is one of our master keys to living a successful life at every level.

Knowledge

Knowledge

Knowledge is power.  In any given situation it will accumulate to you being about half way home.  If you know what to do, than all you have to do next is do what you know.  Sometimes this may take a little courage.  It is an awful feeling knowing that something needs to be done and not know what to do.  The strange thing about getting the necessary knowledge is that in doing so, we begin to figure out that we really don’t know much about this process called Life.  Therefore my friend, we should make a daily effort to grow our knowledge.

 Hosea 4:6 (a)

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.

Compliments

Compliments

One of our greatest desires as people is to be noticed and accepted by others.  One of the best ways to recognize people and make them feel that they are valued is to take the time to complement them.  Many of us go about our business day after day just barely getting through emotionally.  I know that I have left many compliments in the form of a thought in my mind.  These thoughts have been formulated towards people I know and don’t know.  We all need to condition ourselves to release these thoughts toward the people that need to receive them. We don’t have to stay and have a conversation.  A lot of the times, it is best to just give the compliment and keep moving, especially if we don’t know them.  Remember, this also, a compliment is not a compliment if it is delivered with the intent to gain an advantage.  That is call manipulation and deceit.

I can live for two months on a good compliment.

Education vs. Educated

Education vs. Educated

Education in a lot of environments is just misunderstood.  We have to do more than just tell our children to get a good education.  What does that mean?  Is acquiring a good education based on where we go to school, the teacher, or the information?  The first thing that must come across to us in order to get a good education is that we must understand that we must get the understanding of it.  I remember as a teen when my grandmother would literally drag me to church.  On this one particular Sunday, the preacher was talking about faith.  He read scriptures about faith and he talked about the faith of certain people.  He pounded in my head that day faith and how important it is.  But, when I left that day, all I kept coming up with is that I don’t understand faith.  He failed to teach me how to apply faith to my life.  Many of us have a formal education.  A lot of us have received an education simply from the environment we grew up in.  Getting an education is one way for us to get information.  But, to be educated, is to know how to use that information.

Proverbs 4:7

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom; and with all your getting, get Understanding.

Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
